For many individuals, including myself, this condition often manifests through shifts in mood, sleep patterns, and an overwhelming sense of fear about the future. The smallest irritations might become insurmountable challenges, and a night spent worrying can lead to physical symptoms like nausea or fatigue.

The internal struggle with depression isn’t merely about addressing immediate circumstances but grappling with persistent anxieties that haunt one’s thoughts. These fears may revolve around various aspects of life—financial stability, social interactions, health concerns, or familial responsibilities—and they create a sense of dread that can be debilitating. One specific conversation about my father’s friend Mike, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer, brought into sharp relief how fortunate I truly am. Reflecting on the challenges faced by someone in such dire circumstances made me realize that many of my worries are transient compared to more severe realities. This perspective shift helped me appreciate health and well-being more profoundly.
